WAO 2013- team Argentina
The favorite toys of your dogs?
With Shadow, I had to use really dobermann-proof tugs, but anything that I had on my hands worked just as well( a simple rope, tennis ball, you choose). Marvel has a preference for soft toys that make sounds, be it squeakers or something else.. I have 3 or 4“ dog plushies” for her I use as special rewards, and she loves them to death. Also she loves the crunchy feeling of empty water bottles. Bliss, my Border Collie Pup who is now 8 months old, is a tug-a-holic. Like Marvel, she likes soft toys a lot, but she tugs like a beastie, so sometimes I need to use more resistant tug toys with her. All of them love frisbees, and squeaky balls too of course. There are actually very few toys they don’ t like.
Plans for the future?( after the WAO 2013)
Vacations! Haha. The WAO is actually the last and“ really huge” activity of my crazy 2013 schedule. Before the championship I assisted a big local competition in Santa Fe( we got 2nd place in Teams, 5th place in the Best in Show Ranking) in February. Then we had the first official competition, and she got the last qualifying run she needed to be a National Champion( small thing to some, but a huge step for the first Agility-Aussie in our country!). I just got back from Brasil with Marvel, where we took a Seminar with Tereza Kralová and Lisa Frick, and now in a week we have the Americas & Caribbean Championship. Then less than a month away is the WAO. I’ m already signed up for 4 seminars in August( Freestyle) and September( Dog Behavior), but I’ m hoping to take a break after Spain, maybe take Marvel somewhere she can swim( she adores swimming) for a week or two, so we can at least catch our breaths after this insane first semester. Then, who knows..! I haven’ t participated in the WAO and I’ m already wishing I can return next year!!
