stand. He was born in the US but is out of Scandinavian lines.
Best Veteran on Saturday was the 11-year-old Pomeranian
Int. Ch. Biconty’s Sound Of Music, owned by Mirja Lager,
while Sunday’s winner was the Afghan Hound Agha Djari’s
Urban Cowboy with Salla Suokas on the other end of the
leash. On Sunday, the Breeder’s Groups were won by the
leading kennel on the Breeder’s List, Tarja Hovila with her
Adamant’s English Springers.

n the last weekend in July, there was a two-day international show at a horse racetrack in Pori. The entry
of about 2,300 dogs was perhaps somewhat less than
expected, but because there are so many shows in the summer months, clubs inevitably compete with each other when
exhibitors can’t be in two places at the same time.
One exhibitor actually did manage to be in two places. Perttu Ståhlberg had won the Group with his Longhaired Miniature Dachshund Int. Ch. Rodels
Rebell on Saturday, and the dog
was entered in the Dachshund
specialty, which was elsewhere
on Sunday. The BIS judge José
Homem de Mello from Portugal
had already gone over most the
Group winners, and had just the
last one, the Whippet on the table, when Perttu hurried to the
showground carrying his dog
box. He had driven as fast as he
could from the other show. José
