Fourth was the GBGV Ch . Frosty Snowman from the Netherlands , bred in the UK by Phil Reid . His owner , Gwen Huikeshoven , chose to come to Helsinki , although the Amsterdam Winner show was on the same weekend . On Sunday he was second in group , and on Sunday Gwen ’ s other dog , the PBGV , was third in group , so she was one of the big winners of the whole weekend . Maybe it was a good decision , indeed , to come here .
The other group winners were all superb stars . I had the pleasure to judge Group 1 ( the Pastoral Group ), and , in my eyes , the ultimate star was the Smooth Collie Int . Ch . Timonan Veronica Velvet , bred and owned by Tuula Tikkanen . At age 7 , she was in great form , looking better than ever . She bears Ch . titles from seven countries and has umpteen “ Winner ” titles but , unfortunately , has never had puppies . The breed was judged by the Collie guru Rainer Vuorinen , himself , who was ever so pleased to see his BOB take the Group . I must mention another amazing dog in this Group , the Australian Kelpie that placed both days : Int . Ch . Royal Coctail Jubileum Shot , owned by Taina Määttänen . She is an amazing 12 year old , multiple show champion and Winner , plus an obedience Champion and has done well in agility .
The large FCI Group 2 winner came from Russia . It was the Black Russian Terrier Ch . Moskvorechie Irineya , owned by Maria Guryanova . This was her first visit to Finland . The next day she was BOS , so she went home with two titles . The Terrier Group winner was the Smooth Fox Terrier Ch . Shoutinghill Little Punk , bred and owned by Satu Mulari-Karvonen . This dog has been very successful during the year and ended up No . 4 on the top dog list . The best of the Dachshunds was the Smooth Miniature Ch . Gyrfalcon Bossanova , owned by Ilona Alla from Estonia . She was also BOB on Sunday .
The top pointing gundog came from Sweden . This was the
Irish Setter Dubliner Alejandro , bred and owned by Jenny Ronnebro . This was his first time in Finland , but he has obviously been travelling around because he already has his German Ch . title . The Sighthound Group was topped once again by the US-born Borzoi Int . Ch . Phaedra Tamerlane , who has collected lots of titles , Group and BIS wins with his young
