The Italian handler Fabrizio Manni has been lynched on social media because several dogs died in his van some months ago outside a hotel when they were on the way to a show in Italy . Now he has been provisionally suspended from showing dogs until the case is resolved . He was seen showing dogs at Moscow and Brussels , but his suspension is in Italy , not other countries . The case is still open and under thorough inspection . Maybe the dogs indeed died of heatstroke , but we shouldn ’ t jump to conclusions before every stone has been turned and the truth revealed , if that is possible .
Day One Competition
On the first of the three days , the FCI Groups 1 , 6 , 7 and 8 were judged . Every day the Best Minor Puppy , Best Puppy , Best Veteran , Best Brace , Best Breeders ’ Group , Best Junior of each Group and finally the actual Group final were judged . Although there were many finals in the main ring , it went smoothly because there was pre-judging . The judges were instructed to pick out about six semifinalists and then place three in reverse order . Only the Junior Group and regular Group winners are supposed to return on Sunday for the BIS final . On Sunday , the BOB winners of the Belgian breeds specialty came to the main ring , and the BIS of that was chosen there .
The three speakers of the main ring , Rony Doedijns , Jean-Francois Vanaken and Jos de Cuyper , announced everything in English . They spoke French and Flemish only when

The Pastoral Group was judged by Mr . Norman Deschuymere , one of the Belgian all-rounders , and for first in Group , he chose the Malinois Melusine du Hameau Saint Blaise from France , owned by Sabastien Dezeure .
Popular Portuguese all-rounder Mr . Luis Pinto Teixeira judged the large Scenthound Group , and his choice for the top spot was the GBGV Frosty Snowman , owned by Gwen Huikeshoven from the Netherlands . She had a really good day , as her PBGV had also won BOB and was placed third in the Group .
The Pointing Gundogs is also a large Group consisting of many rare breeds , and Mr . Laurent Pichard of Switzerland chose the Weimaraner from Belgium , Doc ’ n Camelot ’ s Heaven Can Wait , an American import owned by Edwin Lenaerts , Tonie Finch and Linda van der Sichel . This very same dog won the Group at the World Dog Show in Moscow .
Group 8 ( Spaniels , Retrievers and
Water Dogs ) was judged by Mr . Theo van Leenen of Belgium . The winner was the Portuguese Water Dog Patriot ’ s Life In The Fast Lane , owned by Ilona Griffon-van Beek from the Netherlands . Second in Group and also the winner of the Junior Group was Sanna Vartiainen ’ s American Cocker Very Vigie Look at Me from Finland . This youngster went on to win Best Junior in Show .
Day Two Competition
On Saturday Groups 5 , 9 and 10 were shown . Mr . Augustin Ionescu from Romania judged the Spitz Group and fell for the
