Fabelhaft Dogs
at Home
All of the Fabelhaft dogs live in our home with us as part of our family. They
occupy an in-law suite, complete with their own kitchen, gas fireplace and flatscreen TV. A large laundry and recreation room are utilized as housing areas.
The floors are porcelain tile for easy cleaning, and a short flight of steps leads
to an outside exercise area. I constantly juggle between maintaining enough
dogs for a breeding program but not so many so they can’t receive individual
attention. So the number of dogs varies. I breed as my schedule allows but not
as much as I’d like: usually a couple of litters here at home and perhaps some
co-bred with others.
I have a morning, afternoon and evening routine for feeding, bathing and
exercise, so I am constantly busy. I do not have a kennel in the traditional sense
and only have help on occasion when I travel, but for the most part (contrary to
popular belief), I do everything myself. For me, spending time and constantly
being with my dogs and puppies is very helpful and necessary. How can you
call yourself a breeder otherwise? DIR
