Marietta
Existing Land Use Existing land uses in the City of Marietta within the Light MCA are shown on Figure 3 and their radiance values greater than 20 are shown on Figures 6 and 7 . More than half of the existing land uses in Marietta are in the > 40 radiance range , as shown in Table 3 . This indicates that many existing land uses are contributing to light pollution . Of the 3,600 acres within this range , Commercial comprises the most land usage , covering approximately one third of the area . The Commercial uses in the Light MCA are generally located along US 41 , north of Windy Hill Road up to SR 120 . Within this corridor there are retail centers as well as four car dealerships , which have lighting to display cars within the lots as shown in the following images .

Other commercial uses comprise restaurants , retail stores , and a couple of big box retailers .
The second most prominent land use in the > 40 radiance range is Industrial , which borders Dobbins ARB to the north and east . Uses in these areas include an oil company , car rental center , and shipping center . Existing land uses within the Light MCA with radiance values greater than 20 are shown on Figures 4 and 5 .
