Blueprint Cumberland is a plan for future development patterns in the
Cumberland CID. The plan has undergone one update and is currently in the
process of being updated again. The current Five‐Year Plan, Blueprint
Cumberland Livable Center Initiatives (LCI) Update 2012‐2017, comprises
four roadways and 29 pedestrian‐related projects, all of which include street
and pedestrian lighting.
The LCI is a grant program through Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC),
which incentivizes local jurisdictions to create a vision for a community that
has an elevated quality of life, which includes walkable places, diverse
mobility options, and access to jobs and services. Because these areas focus
on development and redevelopment, there is potential for increased
lighting, as well as opportunity to influence the future of lighting within
those areas.
There are also beautification improvements, that incorporate lighting, for
retaining walls at the following locations:

Zoning
Zoning in Cobb Country within the Light MCA is shown on Figure 5 and the
radiance values greater than 20 are shown on Figures 10 and 11. Zoning in
Cobb County is made up of six districts as shown in Table 2. The zoning
districts with the greatest acreage in the highest radiance range are
Commercial and Medium Density Residential. Zoning and Medium Density
Residential is located on Powers Ferry Road between Terrell Mill Road and
Windy Hill Road. A dense area of commercial zoning is located at the
southwest intersection of I‐75 and I‐285, north of Cumberland Boulevard.
Both areas are within the >40 radiance range.
