Future Land Use
Future land uses in Cobb County are guided by the Cobb County 2030
Comprehensive Plan as well as various County master plans. Because future
land use plans consider projected growth which includes current vacant
parcels, the total future land use acreage for the county is greater than the
existing land use acreage, as shown in Table 2. The future land use is similar

to the existing land use in that the greatest amount of acreage is located
within the 6‐20 radiance range while almost one third of the acreage is
within the 20‐40 range, and another third is in the >40 range. Future land
uses from the 2030 Comprehensive Plan as well as improvement that are
identified in the master plans within the Light MCA are shown on Figure 4
and their radiance values greater than 20 are shown on Figures 8 and 9.
