" Whenever I make holiday cookie baskets to share with friends and family , I always include a batch or two of these brownies . They are delicious !" -Elisa V .
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups light brown sugar , packed - 1.5 sticks of unsalted butter , softened - 3 eggs - 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
Directions
- ¾ cup flour - 4 tablespoons Dutch cocoa powder - 4 tablespoons regular cocoa powder - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips - ½ teaspoon salt - 1 tin Altoid peppermints ( 1.76 ounces )
1 . Preheat oven to 350 °. 2 . Line a 9x9 inch pan with foil . Spray foil with nonstick baking spray . Set aside . 3 . In a food processor , crush the Altoid mint into tiny bits . Set aside . 4 . In a microwave-safe bowl , combine butter , brown sugar , unsweetened chocolate , chocolate chips , and microwave in 30-second intervals , stirring after each interval just until butter and chocolate melts . Careful not to burn . Stir and set aside .
5 . In another bowl , combine flour , dark cocoa powder , light cocoa powder , crushed Altoid mints and salt . Stir to blend .
6 . Now pour in the melted butter sugar mixture and stir to combine . Then add eggs , one at a time and stir until all ingredients are well combined .
7 . Pour in pan and bake about 33 minutes . Cool in pan on rack . ISSUE 04 | WINTER 2017
