t Francis! His life, which any ordinary being would term
crazy, has in the current century attracted many men and
women religious, clergy and lay persons in the Catholic
Church.
The love of nature and creation, simplicity and peace has
indeed brought to unity Franciscan families, not forgetting Pope
Francis who took his name after St. Francis - this attractive and
compelling figure as his guide and inspiration.

May the Lord continue to fulfill
the good work he began in the
Franciscans and through Mary
our Mother, may he pour his
spirit in their hearts.

September 5, 2015 was a special day for the Franciscans in
Kenya as the various shades of the Franciscan habits walked into
Portiuncula a center for the Franciscan Family Association in
Langata, Nairobi to mark the Franciscan family day.
The day commenced with the Holy Eucharist celebration,
presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan,
Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo, with several Franciscan priests
as concelebrants.
In his deeply inspirational five-minute sermon, the Nuncio
reminded the congregation that Franciscans are called upon to
“rebuild the Church.”
