London Borough of Hounslow Learning Disabilities Hate Crime
Awareness Week event at St Pauls.
This featured: “Can You Save Jason?” a play about hate-crime and
mate-crime By Speak Out in Hounslow. John Seear from DNH read Paula
Peters' poem about hate crime which was in the last DNH newsletter.
The event was organised by the Hounslow Hate Crime Support Service and
DNH.
Paula is a disability rights campaigner living in South London who writes
from personal experience of disability hate crime. She spoke at the
recent memorial gathering in memory of people who died soon after being
assessed as “fit for work” .
IAP [Independent Activities Project]
Creative Wednesday Group has returned to the Star Centre 63- 65 Bell
Road Hounslow every Wednesday afternoon between 2-5pm.
Anyone is welcome to come and although the group focuses on art
activities, no-one has to know how to paint or draw , but can just come
along and enjoy good company together with a nice cup of tea.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction service for disabled people.
Mindfulness has helped people throughout the world suffering from stress,
anxiety , sadness and also physical pain. Coming on one of our free fiveweek courses, a course member will receive guided instruction in
mindfulness meditation practices, individually tailored instructions and
