What sacrifices have you had to make to do what you love?
Pouring every cent into what we do, being away from partners and families, bouncing from job to
job to work around tour schedules, borrowing from people, always asking for the world’s biggest
favors.
Who did you get your musical talent from?
Practice, Practice, Practice
How did you come up with the name of the band?
Gary and Brent were watching the news one night and a guy was caught by the police with an 8
Foot Sativa plant in his house (Sativa = Marijuana plant) and Brent said hey that’s a cool band
name, so it began.

What are your goals for the future?
Where do you hope to be in 2 years? Our goals are to continue writing; recording and touring, ultimately touring overseas is the goal. Two years’ time we would like to be on the festival touring circuit in UK and USA.
What recording studio do you use?
For our latest album the Shadow Masters we used Quicksand Studios in earthquake torn Christchurch, It is located in the heart of Christchurch and that whole area was devastated by the recent
earthquakes and Quicksand managed to survive almost totally undamaged.
If i grabbed your Ipod from you, what would i find you listening to right now?
Testament, LOG, Megadeth, 8 Foot Sativa
How would you define "success" for the band?
Being together recording and touring still in 10 years.
