Where can people find out more about the band?
We have a new website in the works which should be ready very soon, but for now you can catch
us at the following places:
facebook.com/widows666
reverbnation.com/widows666
twitter.com/widowsnotts
widows666.bandcamp.com
I also admin a networking group called The Underground Music Coalition. You can find all UMC
related stuff via Google - we have a presence on most major sites; there's a fan page for folks into
the bands we deal with and we currently have a bunch of compilations available on
Bandcamp.com for free.
What are your goals for the future? Where do you hope to be in 2 years?
Definitely more touring! We went to Finland last year and had a blast, we will be in northern Europe in Feb 2014 too for more of the same. If nothing else it's a holiday that we get to bring our instruments along on, make new friends and promote our music.
We would love to get some more love from the UK press. We all spent our teens reading about our
idols in mags like Metal Hammer, Kerrang and Terrorizer so it'd be awesome to have our music
featured in the same mags we grew up reading.
Other than that we really want to play some more festivals in the coming year. After playing the
first Desert Fest last year and seeing our buddies in Grifter, Diesel King, and others hitting festivals
like Bloodstock, Download, Arc Tangent, and Damnation Fest we're definitely gunning to get some
WIDOWS lovin in the ears of the UK/Europe festival scenes.
What recording studio do you use?
Our first EP - Raise the Monolith - was recorded at Stuck on a Name Studios in the space of a day
or two with Ian Boult (Boulty) and Phil Roberts of Huffin Paint/Death Tripper.
Our album - Death Valley Duchess - was recorded at The Moot Group studio with Jonny Carter of
Pitchshifter and Paul Yeadon of Bivouac.
Both studios are local ones in Nottingham and have worked with some great names in the past.
We chose them on the strength of their previous recordings and were definitely not disappointed!
