DJ REM STUDIOS Webzine October 2013 Issue 4 | Page 3
How often are you guys able to get together and practice?
Joe: Unfortunately, we're currently on a once-a-week kind of schedule, primarily due to financial constraints.
Bear: When work and studying doesn't interfere...at least once a week usually.
Where do you guys practice at?
Joe: The Temple Of Boom studios in Stourbridge
What got you into music, and what are your influences?
Joe: I guess I got into a lot of music in high school, I had some good friends who turned me on to a lot of
different sounds; Black Flag, who always were and are still my absolute favourites; Minor Threat and a lot of
great hardcore stuff. I got into that stuff through AFI, The Offspring, bands like that. Bear introduced me to
Oxbow after one of our first band practices, they're a big deal for me.
Bear : I always loved music since I was small and eventually I managed to convince my parents that buying
me a guitar wouldn't be a shit idea. Biggest influences musically are Black Sabbath, New Model Army, Killing Joke and old rock like the Who, the Doors and The Rolling Stones. I could spend forever talking
about different things that influence me musically… Beat novels, psychedelic experiences, violence and relationships are undeniable influences for me too.
What sacrifices have you had to make to do what you love?
Joe: I've never really done anything I could call a sacrifice; I've always pursued what I want in terms of the
band, and if that means I have to miss out on shifts at work, or meals, then that's just what it takes.
Bear: We’re all poor, ugly and have lots of scars and bruises.
Who did you get your musical talent from?
Joe: Haha, have you heard the band? We practice hard, and I train physically and write lyrics all the time.
Bear: Talent? Haha… Practicing a lot.
How did you come up with the name of the band?
Joe: Ben came up with the name; there's something in it, a kind of promise, or a threat
Where can people find out more about the band?
Joe: We use the usual channels: Facebook, Twitter; anyone who wants to can email us.
