DivKid's Month Of Modular Issue #3 December 2015 | Page 2

Welcome to issue three of "DivKid's Month Of Modular". I was hoping for some EWI / Modular daft Christmas thing to share with you all but unfortunately I've ran out of time to get that sorted. Busy month as always with various mixing, mastering and sample pack jobs underway to compliment the video work going on. As always feel free to get in touch either to chat through Facebook or Twitter and be sure to check out the main video page on YouTube as there's lots of other playlists besides eurorack overviews getting new content at the minute. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone too! Note inks are underlined.

It's become a habit to sit a stare (like a distant stalker) at my modular to pick out a module of the month. There's simply so much good stuff to choose from that gets a lot regular use it's hard to pick just one. But I must so here's the pick for this month.

The AJH Synth MiniMod system has proved itself to be hands down one of the best synths I've ever heard and with that it mind I've chosen the oscillator as my module of the month. It takes modulation (not just traditional Minimoog Model D stuff but audio rate too) like a trooper and simply just sounds fantastic! Luckily I have two full voices (both the original silver and black panelled 'dark edition' in my set up which has been a true joy to work with. Here's a video of the oscillator to whet your appetite.

Nothing particularly stupid or funny is coming to mind for this months "things from around the web" but as always there's still plenty of great content around.

The following videos are back from 2012 but they seem to have slipped by me. Bloc Weekend (the festival) have these four videos with the headliners looking at their influences. Click these links to check out videos

with Nicolas Jaar, Apparat, Steve Reich and Gary

Numan. Each video is a nice look at their

backgrounds, some history surrounding

certain scenes of electronic music and

musical influences.

As always check out more general “blog

style” content from me on my website.
