Did you get it – Caverna? At the Cap
you jump off, sink rapidly close to 30
meters and orientate yourself on a
prominent block, which is full of red
gorgonians. Look around very calmly
down there, because this is the terri-
tory of a big lobster. The giant with his
huge pair of scissors is impressive and
even thunderstorms of flashes leave it
cold blooded.
Also conger and moray eels feel
comfortable in the crevices and holes
around. As only no-decompression
dives are allowed, you should quickly
move to shallower regions with your
left shoulder along the reef. Swarms
of flag perch, bream, barbel and gol-
den storm eels can be seen again
and again. After a quarter of an hour
you will reach the cavern or grotto, its
entrance is between twelve and 16
metres and has a narrow vent up to
about three metres.
Perfect camouflage: the poisonous
weeverfish lurks in the sand for prey
the maximum permitted depth of 40 metres.
The whole scenery takes action in 21 de-
grees warm water, further down two degrees
less, a „five mil‘ semi-dry“ is enough for me.
On the other side of the bay there are two
spots in the portfolio which – with enough air,
good conditions and of course in consultation
with the boat captain – can be done in one
descent: from Cap Caverna to Caverna in a
comfortable one way direction dive.

However, diving through it is only pos-
sible when the sea is calm. In the dark
zone keep your eyes open and switch
your dive lights on, because shrimps,
hermit crabs and bear crabs as well as dotted
bumblebee shrimps can be found.
Our one hour dive time is over, we have to
get back to boat. Comfortably and without
dislocation you are on deck soon, thanks to
the hydraulic lift, on which up to three divers
can be lifted up together. Simply great and
safe, by the way also for the younger genera-
tion. Even with gusty Tramuntana, the north
wind, these spots are feasible, they are close
to the cliffs and therefore prove to be extre-
mely protected. Just avoid the end of the bay
here could be a good draught.
For daily diving: In the Give centre you dress
up, walk a few meters to la playa, assemb-
