D as Hobby zum Beruf machen – davon träumen viele. Mimmo Roscigno hats gemacht. Geboren in Siena lebt er schon lange südöstlich von Neapel im kleinen Städtchen Torre Annunziata. Das ist nur einen Steinwurf entfernt vom antiken Pompei. Sie wissen schon: die Sache mit dem Vulkanausbruch des Vesuvs. Allerdings liegt Torre Annunziata wirklich am Ufer des Golfs von Neapel. Und somit das Lieblingstauchrevier von Mimmo sozusagen direkt vor seiner Haustür.
Wer seine Bilder sieht, mag glauben, dass der Lehrer für Fotografie an der Hochschule für Künste jede freie Minute unter Wasser verbringt. Sicher ist: Tauchen ohne Kamera kommt für Mimmo jedenfalls nicht in Frage.
M any people dream of turning their hobby into a profession. Mimmo Roscigno has done it. Born in Siena, he lives southeast of Naples in the small town of Torre Annunziata for years. It‘ s only a stone‘ s throw away from ancient Pompei. You know: the thing with the eruption of Vesuvius. However, Torre Annunziata is really on the shore of the Gulf of Naples. Meaning: Mimmo‘ s favourite diving zone is right on his doorstep, so to speak.
Anyone who sees his pictures may believe that the photography teacher at a High School of Photography and Art spends every free minute under water. Well, one thing is certain: diving without a camera is out of the question for Mimmo.
