Best dive sites in Yap
Yap Caverns One of Yap ‘ s top dive sites . A sandy plateau interrupts the outer reef edge . Small tunnel passages in the back , on the plateau itself several large coral blocks . A lot of macro stuff , several cleaning stations , including one for sharks at around 115 feet . Everything is possible here : from the Pacific Angelshark to tiny little shrimps on sponges .
• depth 45-120 ft , visibility up to 120 ft , dive for every state of expierence , difficulty : for all divers
Mi ‘ l Channel A part of the Gofnuw Channel and the Harbor Passage Mi ‘ l Channel is the third large channel through which manta rays , eagle rays and sharks from the lagoon swim into the open sea . It iss usually dived only with incoming current . Small soft coral population at the bottom . Large fish , sharks , swarms , at then ridge very often turtles .
• depth 20-90 ft , visibility up to 120 ft , current possible , both weak and strong , difficulty : for all divers
O ‘ Keefe ‘ s Passage Outside reef area on the east of Yap . Beautiful stone coral landscape . Whitetip reef sharks in the sand , barracuda schools , snapper schools . Can be done as a stationary dive or as a drift dive whith the boat following the divers .
