It is almost unbelievable that modern times have made the – so to say long hidden – atolls of the Maldives ( almost ) every diver ‘ s dream .
It is that fabulous mixture of „ not around the corner “ and „ not really out of this world “ which keeps the fame of the destination since the Austrian
marine biologist Hans Hass and his expedition made the reefs and animals in ths part of the world an ever lasting legend . Today , it is a lot easier to go even to distant islands and to discover almost untouched reefs . Opened in 2017 , Filaidhoo in the Raa Atoll is one of the new diver islands .
