The hotspot in the diving area is undoubtedly the Big Reef of Jandía in front of the Morro Jable lighthouse ; it actually has a kind of legendary status . Although the name is misleading : there are moray eels there too ; in principle , however , divers can assume that they can encounter many of the animals that live in the eastern Atlantic and are not exclusively found on the high seas . From groupers to giant rays , almost everything is possible .
Needless to say that it ’ s not a zoo and that there is never a guarantee to see exotic species such as manta rays or even deep-sea sharks .
