More than just a job

Rauch helps clients find work, assist employers

Story and Photos by Erik Hackman Erik. hackman @ newsandtribune. com
In 1953, a group of parents led by Leona Receveur started Rauch in a church basement as a school for children with developmental disabilities.
It was the first school for children with developmental disabilities in Indiana and was also the first organization in Southern Indiana to be funded by the WHAS Crusade for Children.
Rauch’ s mission is to support people with disabilities and their families while encouraging a community that acknowledges the value and contributions of all people.
Carry Larson has been at Rauch for the last 16 years and has worked just about every job the organization offers. Currently she works at the Census Bureau as a janitor.
