Aboriginal Employment strategy.
ACTION PLAN
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (ATSI)
We acknowledge the Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples as the
first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we work,
learn and live. Interrelate’s vision for reconciliation is to recognise, respect and value
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, history, needs and to celebrate their
contributions and achievements. With this knowledge, we aim to ensure that all our services
can enhance the wellbeing, safety and resilience of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
children, families and communities. We recognise that the intergenerational trauma that
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience as a result of colonisation continues
to be passed from generation to generation with devastating effects and we understand
that addressing this trauma is central to healing for Indigenous peoples.
