LOVE
It was day three on the beautiful Island of Jamaica and my emotional cup was full . Like clockwork , my eyes opened with the rising of the sun . After freshening up , I gathered my things and headed to my usual spot on the beach , inhaling the peace as I walked through the stunning resort . There were very few people walking around which made my journey to sit with God that more exhilarating . I remember like it was just yesterday , writing in my journal and embracing the blessing of the deep blue water , white sand , and the sound of love . The sweet spirit of God moved upon me during my time of meditation like I had never experienced before , and I knew today a miracle was going to happen .

Approximately 2 years prior to this moment , God spoke to me during meditation . The direction was to prepare myself to be a wife . I respectfully declined and shortened my meditation session . I had been married before and was finally in a place of healing and self-love . I was a 10-year divorcee , with two of the three children I raised independently out of the house , and I was looking forward to living that true single life . The next day during my routine morning meditation , God spoke again , “ prepare yourself to be a wife .” I cried and had a real-life temper tantrum . Eventually I surrendered and began seeking God for answers on being a wife because I truly had no idea what that meant . The girl ’ s trip to Jamaica came after months of frustration asking God , “ so where exactly is this husband ?” One of my girlfriends posed the question to travel and I was so happy to say yes because clearly the voice must have been my own or God had just forgotten about me . Either way , I was going to Jamaica for fun and relaxation with absolutely no expectations .
Fast forward back to the day of the encounter with the Holy Spirit on the beautiful beach of Jamaica . At sunset , I got dressed and walked several villas over to meet my friends for dinner . The sun had set , and the lights fashionably designed on the walkway , led the way . As I approached the villa , I began to feel a beautiful and safe presence , eventually seeing the silhouette of a man standing off to the side of the walkway . It was clear that he was a member of the staff as he was dressed in a uniform . His beautiful skin complexion complemented the night and as my steps eventually stopped where he stood , I asked , “ are you security ?” His white teeth lit of the space , and he replied in a beautiful , accented voice behind a warm smile , “ no .” We talked for what felt like hours but in reality , was only about 10 to 15 minutes . I walked away with only his name , but I stayed up most of the night asking God , who was that man . I would find out later , his question to God was the exact same .
Around the same time the next day , I carefully dressed to take the same path to meet the ladies for dinner . In heavy anticipation , I was met with disappointment when he was not there . I gave myself a pep talk and kept it moving , only to have to return to my villa to retrieve something left behind . On the way back , there he was standing off to the side of the walkway . We both exhaled , smiled , and I giggled .
8 years 7 months later , we are best friends , husband and wife , life partners and true believers of God . 12
