Every woman is created uniquely. Some women have good features, body shapes and a great dressing sense. Then again, the majority of us are always insecure especially when it comes to the way our body looks like. Women tend to compare themselves with every woman they bump into. This leads to inferior complexity, which is bad. In order to overcome this insecurity, women should start loving themselves by embracing their imperfections and not be too hard on themselves. Everyone is not perfect and we should start accepting the flaws we have instead of finding ways to rectify it through liposuction, plastic surgery etc. Many of us fail to realise that these acts may lead to many devastating consequences and side effects. Women should learn to accept themselves just the way they are.
We have gathered some styles for different body shapes. We believe that this will be a guide to help you dress properly according to your body type without feeling uncomfortable and insecure. If you are someone who is curvy with a tiny waist (HOURGLASS), you should actually highlight your curves and not hide them. Belted jacket, crop tops with pencil skirts and a wrap dress appears to be flattering on you. Furthermore, if you have a slim lower body and carry weight around your middle, you are known as an (APPLE). You should minimise your mid-section by highlighting your shoulders and legs. To do so, you should try on swing coats, flowy tops, high-waisted circle skirt, low-waisted straight-leg pants or shift dress as it lies just far enough away from the body to conceal any problem areas. Tailoring tip: Most women with apple figures have shapely legs, so get your dress hemmed to show them off!
For all you, (BANANAS) out there! Women who are curvy and have hips around the same size as their waists. You are advised to try on ruffled tops, slightly cropped top with a banded bottom, side-cut out dresses, tapered pants and miniskirts because your goal here is to highlight the thinnest part of your waist so your hips and busts appears larger and more proportional. Moving on, if the widest part of your body is around your hips, you are categorised as a (PEAR). Your goal here is to elongate and balance your figure by accentuating your top half. To do that, you could try wearing off shoulder fit and flare dresses, an A-line skirt, embellished tops, boot-cut pants or a structured jacket.
By following these, you can be a diva! Just learn to mix and match clothing and admire someone else’s beauty without questioning your own because you are beautiful the way you are and no one can be YOU! So, love yourself and style yourself!
