FL members on Legislative
Days—Chris Stewart, Rep.
Spencer Roach, Richard
Paul-Hus and Frank Gibson.
Recently, Senate Majority Leader Senator Kathleen
Passidomo (R-Naples) received the prestigious Don
Davis Excellence in Service Award for her “demonstration
of integrity, dedication, selflessness, leadership and
public service to her constituents and knowledge and
appreciation of the construction industry.” NUCA of
Florida President Jordan Lee presented the award to
Leader Passidomo at a NUCA of Florida Legislative
Days Reception in Tallahassee. Constituents Frank Gibson and Chris
Stewart, both members of NUCA of Southwest Florida, were also by
the Senator’s side when the award was presented.
Majority Leader Passidomo has been a friend and a strong advocate for
the underground utility and construction industry. She herself works
as a real estate and title attorney and as a lawmaker has tackled tough
industry-related issues such as construction defects, statute of repose and condominium law. Majority
Leader Passidomo’s tireless work ethic and passion for public service enables her to serve her community
above and beyond the call of duty.
The award was established in 2010 by NUCA of North Florida member Anthony “Tony” Zebouni in
memory of the late Representative Don Davis. It is presented annually to a non-member who has made a
significant contribution to the industry or chapter, and most exemplifies the life and example of Don Davis.
Considerations for this award include an individual’s accomplishments in private life, business, military or
public service. Past recipients of the Don Davis Excellence in Service Award include former Speaker Will
Weatherford, State Representative Charles McBurney, and State Representative Lake Ray.
