Down
Many NUCA of Florida members participated
in Trench Safety Stand Down (TSSD) the week
of June 17-21. This annual event encourages
underground utility contractors to pause and
pay attention to safety protocols around the
jobsite, particularly with respect to trench work
and utilizing trench protective systems. A TSSD
presents a great opportunity for employers to talk
directly to their employees about safety, focusing
on trench & excavation hazards and reinforcing
the importance of using trench protective systems
and protecting workers from trenching hazards.
Companies who complete a TSSD may download
and submit a completion form to NUCA National
and will receive a completion certificate in return.
