Briefly tell us about your professional background . LAMARCA : I have spent the vast majority of my professional career in the construction industry , specializing in fuel systems and power generation . I started from the bottom , learning to design systems using AutoCAD and followed up by learning the process turnkey , from pulling permits to managing and closing out projects with major oil companies . Later in my career , I learned the field of power generation and brought the two specialties together when I started LaMarca Construction Corporation in 2006 .
What inspired you accept this agency leadership position ? LAMARCA : I ran for the State House after serving the people of Broward County for eight years on the Board of County Commissioners and the Lighthouse Point City Commission for six years prior to that . I have chosen my public service as a way to work together with the businesses and people of my community to build and now rebuild our economy .
