Can you briefly tell us about your
professional background?
STARGEL: I have spent the majority
of my career working from home
managing over 50 single-family
rental properties that my husband
and I own. This afforded me the
opportunity to have a flexible
schedule in addition to staying home
to raise my 5 children.
What inspired you to run for office?
STARGEL: I am a 6th generation
Floridian, and I have 5 children. I ran
for office because I wanted to work
towards ensuring that my children
would have the same opportunities
here in Florida that I had, such as
the access to a great education,
opportunity for a high paying job,
and affordable housing with a stable
economy.
What are you currently reading?
STARGEL: David & Goliath:
Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of
Battling Giants by Malcolm Gladwell
Grill master or reservations?
STARGEL: Reservations.
What are your hobbies or interests
outside of work?
STARGEL: Going to the beach and
traveling.
Which actor do you most look like?
STARGEL: When I was a kid I actually
won a competition for looking like
Melissa Gilbert. (The actress who
played Laura Ingalls in Little House
on the Prairie ).
What is the secret to your success?
STARGEL: As others have said, there
is no secret to success. It is the
result of preparation, hard work and
learning from failure.
What is your favorite college or pro
team?
STARGEL: FSU Seminoles.
Campfire or fireplace?
STARGEL: Campfire.
What was the first car you drove?
STARGEL: 1966 Red Mustang (It
wasn’t as cool in 1982 as it is now).
Do you have any pets?
STARGEL: Two dogs.
What is the first concert you
attended?
STARGEL: The Eagles & Jimmy
Buffet 1980.
