Dear Foundation Trustees :
Thank you so much for awarding me the Andrew Scott Johnson Memorial Scholarship for the 2020- 2021 academic year . I am honored by your generous support . This award helps me immensely in my pursuit of attending medical school and becoming a medical doctor .
During my first year of college , I adjusted to life as an adult in Washington , D . C . and had a successful academic year . I recently completed the Women ’ s Leadership Program in the Science , Health and Medicine cohort , which is a 1-year living and learning community . Through this program , I was able to make connections with the National Institute of Health and talk to students at the GW Medical School to become informed on different paths of medicine . Additionally , I continued my practice in dance as a Corcoran Dance Scholar through a variety of classes and performances . I also took part in multiple clubs and organizations that have ties to the community , which allowed me to continue my commitment to community service .
I have begun my second year of college at the George Washington University in the Milken Institute of Public Health . Your continued support will help me to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to become a strong student ready for medical school . Without scholarship patrons willing to support medical education , students such as myself would be unable to pursue advanced health care degrees . Thank you so much for supporting me in my academic endeavors . I am looking forward to continuing my education this semester .
