NUCA is committed to providing our
members as much information as we have
regarding the national response to today’s
coronavirus pandemic. There is obviously
a lot going on, and several legislative
measures are in play to provide assistance
to medical/healthcare personnel, state and
local governments, small businesses and
their workers, and the American people
at large. While the House is expected to
close the deal on the proposed $2 trillion
package passed by the Senate, more bills
are in the works and infrastructure funding
will be under consideration.
The discussion of what comprises
“essential workers” also continues in federal
and state executive chambers. NUCA has
been pushing to keep utility contractors
front and center in that conversation. In
