CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SUCA 2021 RUNNER-UP SCHOLARSHIP WINNER , Joshua Pitre , son of Madelyn and Joseph Pitre , Ripa & Associates
Joshua graduated from Newsome High School this year and has been accepted at the University of Central Florida where he plans to obtain his Bachelors in Biology for health professionals and then move on to dental school to achieve a doctorate in dental medicine . Joshua graduated with an astonishing weighted GPA of 5.83 and is ranked 172 out of 742 students in his class . He has taken honors , AP and dual enrollment courses during his high school career . Joshua was a member of the National Honors Society . His extra-curricular activities included Baseball on his 7A high school team as starting pitcher . He has played baseball for over 10 years and has played travel ball . He earned Preseason All American Florida Region Honorable Mention in 2020-2021 and 7 time Perfect game All Tournament Pitcher from 2018-2021 . In addition to his rigorous academic schedule and demanding baseball schedule he also found time to volunteer . He volunteered at Bloomingdale / Brandon Little Leagues , Life ’ s Treasures Thrift Store , Feeding Tampa Bay , Fishhawk Youth Baseball Camps and St Vincent De Paul Food Pantry .
