ANNUAL CONFERENCE
NUCA of Florida ’ s “ 40 + 1 ” Anniversary Annual Conference was a big success . Close to 160 NUCA FL members gathered at the Ritz Carlton , Naples June 17-19 to network with industry colleagues . On Thursday , attendees participated in the Executive , Board and Committee meetings before enjoying a Welcome Reception with the exhibitors . Friday morning kicked off with a complete breakfast buffet and interesting educational sessions , including a Damage Prevention Strategies Panel , a construction economy update from Dr . Jerry Parrish , Florida Chamber , and a primer on the new NUCA Advantage program by Wayne Faison , the Faison Group . Following lunch , attendees gathered to honor and recognize Past Presidents of the state association during the Past Presidents Luncheon and a scrumptious food buffet was enjoyed . Additionally , the 2021- 2022 Executive Officers and Board of Directors were sworn in and current President Mike Kivlin , JWI Inc ., turned the leadership reigns over to incoming President , Clark Cryer , Johnson Davis . Friday afternoon was reserved for poolside , the beach or a round of golf before reconvening for a Happy Hour with exhibitors sponsored by Robert Allee , Dobbs Equipment . Saturday fun began with plenty of free time to enjoy the beach , fly kites or relax by the pool before the scholarship reception and “ Back to the 80 ’ s ” delectable dinner . Mathieu McKay , Burgess Civil , was the welldeserved recipient of the $ 7500 college scholarship award . Talented musician McLean Mannix blasted 80 ’ s tunes and attendees really took to dressing the part with 80 ’ s-themed garb .
