Joe Antico Outstanding Community Service Award
The Joe Antico Outstanding Community Service Award recognizes a NUCA of Florida member whom demonstrates continued commitment to outstanding community service , exhibits sustained influence and outreach within the community and contributes to the betterment of the quality of life in the local area . Nominees of industry “ do-gooders ” were submitted by NUCA of Florida members and a selection committee was charged with reviewing the submittals . A brief summary of the outstanding nominees are below .
Matt Cobb , Consolidated Pipe & Supply
After weeks of therapy and recovery as a result of suffering a cardiac arrest in November 2020 ( while on a fork lift at Consolidated Pipe & Supply ), Matt Cobb started a non-profit named “ Matt ’ s Mission ” to increase the survival rate in sudden cardiac arrest victims through AED donations , education and training . Matt has donated more than 20 AEDs and done multiple CPR training classes . Matt has also traveled to Tallahassee and Washington DC to support legislation promoting AEDs and CPR training . Matt also convinced the Orange County School Board to mandate electrocardiograms on every student athlete before playing school sports . His efforts no doubt saved the lives of the 20 student athletes flagged as having a life-threatening condition after their EKG was performed .

Larry Falls , Associated Construction Products
Larry Falls breadth of charitable contributions has been extensive during his 35-year career . Since January 2020 , he has donated in excess of $ 315K to a myriad of organizations , including Make a Wish , Habitat for Humanity , COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Funds , Hurricane Ian Disaster Funds , University of South Florida , Leukemia & Lymphoma Association , Pig Jig ( Nephcure ) and various memorials . Larry also volunteers his time with many of these organizations .
James “ Jay ” Genschaw , Ferguson Waterworks
Jay began a “ Homeless Outreach ” this past year , utilizing his own funds to purchase backpacks and filling them with essentials :
