Russell is a member of the SWFL Branch of ASCE , Vice-Chair of SWFL APWA , Chair of the Precast Concrete Structures Association ( PCSA ) of Florida , Secretary of SWFL National Utility Contractors Association ( NUCA ) Chapter and Board Member for NUCA of Florida . He is a graduate of Clemson University with a BS in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in CA , FL , GA , SC & TX . He and his wife , Joli , reside in Fort Myers , Florida .
2 . What inspired you to work in our industry ? Tripp : For me it was a natural transition having started on a survey crew as a rodman at 12 years old during the summers and holidays until I graduated from Clemson University . That led me to become a civil engineer working in the natural gas industry responsible for installation of natural gas lines in NE Counties surrounding Metro Atlanta GA . Beyond that I have remained in the construction industry all of my adult life in some capacity .
3 . What was your first job ? Tripp : My first job out of college was an engineering role for a natural gas distribution company . My office was in Duluth GA .
4 . What is your favorite travel location ? Tripp : I am in my favorite vacation location living in Fort Myers near Sanibel Island . As we all know in SWFL , it has been problematic since September 28 , 2022 .
5 . What is your favorite movie ? Tripp : Dirty Harry with Clint Eastwood
6 . What is your business philosophy ? Tripp : Always leave things better than you found them .
7 . What are your hobbies or interests outside of work ? Tripp : I enjoy playing golf when I have the time . As of late I am enjoying clay shooting .
8 . What is your favorite book ? Tripp : Lord of the Rings Trilogy
9 . What is the first concert you attended ? Tripp : Black Oak Arkansas with Steppenwolf in Augusta GA
10 . What is the secret to your success ? Tripp : Treating people fairly , with respect and helping them develop to their fullest .
11 . What would be your dream vacation ? Tripp : Santorini Greece is still on our bucket list .
12 . What is the one thing about you no one would guess ? Tripp : I am ambidextrous or as they call it today , even handed .
13 . What is your favorite college or pro team ? Tripp : Clemson University Tigers , of course .
