Promote the Construction Industry to a Future Workforce
The Suncoast Utility Contractors Association ( SUCA ), the Florida Department of Transportation ( FDOT ), the Florida Transportation Builders Association ( FTBA ) and industry partners are hosting the Tampa Bay Construction Career Days at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds in Dover , Florida on April 7 , 2022 .
Construction Career Days introduces high school students , grades 11-12 , to various areas of construction including highway , bridges , engineering , utility , geotechnical and more . Students learn from industry professionals about potential job opportunities through hands-on activities . Throughout the day students experience various jobs in learning lab activities such as operating heavy equipment , testing materials , simulating bridge design , traffic safety and more .
Our goal is to educate students on career opportunities in the transportation industry and spotlight companies that are committed to opening doors for youth . Students from local high schools are invited to attend to learn more about the industry at no cost to the student or school districts .
