NUCA OF FLORIDA
LEGISLATIVE
DAYS 2018
On February 5-6, more than 30 members of NUCA of Florida descended upon the Capital City to
advocate for the construction and underground utility industry. Following the Executive Committee
meeting and a productive Board of Directors meeting, attendees took to “the hill” walking the halls of the
Capitol, visiting with their hometown delegation.
Monday evening, attendees gathered under the majestic oaks on the outside patio of Andrew’s
Restaurant, a Tallahassee icon, prior to going “down under” for a cocktail reception. Tuesday morning
kicked off with an informative Legislative Breakfast Briefing at Hotel Duval with former Senate President
and Chair of Senate Community Affairs, Senator Tom Lee; Deputy Secretary Paul Waters, Dept. of
Business and Professional Regulation; and, strong business advocate, Rep. Jay Fant. Unfortunately, Rep.
Jayer Williamson was battling the flu (like most of the lobbying Corp) and unable to attend.
Subsequent to the Legislative Breakfast Briefing, attendees once again trekked to the Capitol to advocate
for our legislative priorities. To learn more about our top legislative issues, click here for our 2018
Legislative Brochure.
Our Legislative Days Event would not be a success without the financial support of our amazing sponsors.
Be sure to thank the following sponsors next time you see them. Moreover, many thanks to those that
made it a priority to travel to Tallahassee to fight for our industry.
As the saying goes, “get into politics, or get out of business.”
