President ’ s Message
NUCA of Florida Members ,
I hope you all have been able to enjoy this beautiful spring weather as much as I have . Thank you to all our members and sponsors !
The legislative session is winding down and our Advocacy Team is hard at work . Kari and Scott , and the rest of the team at Carlton Fields are putting in a lot of work to protect our industry , and they need our help to continue to do so . Bidding for Benjamins is a great way to support our advocacy causes . Win a job , send $ 100 to the advocacy fund . It ’ s that easy . We also have 2 special committees formed right now and we need volunteers for both :
1 . Concrete Pipe Specifications — This committee will work with our colleagues in the concrete pipe industry , Florida Concrete Pipe Institute , and representatives of the FDOT to address issues identified with the specifications and application in the field .
2 . FDOT & Local Government Locates — This committee will evaluate what solutions may be crafted to ensure that underground utility contractors can receive accurate , timely locate information when digging near FDOT and local government facilities . This group will work with Sunshine 811 , the FDOT and local governments .

This year we are offering more exhibitor time with an extra happy hour on Friday night and your Conference Committee is busy planning fun activities for the entire family on Saturday before the Scholarship reception and Awards Dinner .
