Promote the Construction Industry to a Future Workforce
The Suncoast Utility Contractors Association (SUCA), the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the Florida Transportation
Builders Association (FTBA) and industry partners are hosting the Tampa Bay Construction Career Days at the Hillsborough
County Fairgrounds in Dover, Florida on February 21, 2019.
Construction Career Days introduces high school students,
grades 11-12, to various areas of construction including
highway, bridges, engineering, utility, geotechnical and
more. Students learn from industry professionals about
potential job opportunities through hands-on activities.
Throughout the day students experience various jobs in
learning lab activities such as operating heavy equipment,
testing materials, simulating bridge design, traffic safety
and more.
Our goal is to educate students on career opportunities in the
transportation industry and spotlight companies that are committed to
opening doors for youth. Students from local high schools are invited
to attend to learn more about the industry at no cost to the student or
school districts.
