Construction Illumination Standard— Guiding Light

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration(“ OSHA”) has noticed its intent to rescind its Construction Illumination Standard, 29 CFR 1926.26 and 1926.56. In finding the rule“ not reasonably necessary or appropriate” as it does not substantially reduce a significant risk to workers, OSHA proposed rescinding the rule on July 1, 2025, and will accept public comments until September 2, 2025, before proceeding with rulemaking procedures.
