Advanced Placement
Classes
Mansfield ISD also offers
34 college-level advanced
placement (AP) courses for high
school students. Students who
receive a qualifying score on an
AP exam can earn college credit
hours before graduation.
In 2019, MISD students received
a passing score of three or higher
on a total of 2,373 AP exams.
Students can get a jumpstart in
advanced placement courses by
taking one of MISD’s 12 pre-AP
courses in as early as the fifth
grade.
Industry Certifications
In addition to the opportunity of earning
college credit hours, MISD students
can graduate high school with industry-
standard certifications through career
classes at Ben Barber Innovation
Academy.
During the 2018-19 school year, students
earned more than 3,272 certifications.
Areas of certification include emergency
medical technician, certified pharmacy
technician, automotive technician,
Adobe® software associate and many
other career options.
