Summmer Construction Projects
and Navajo Fire Restoration
If you have passed by any of our district schools recently, you have likely noticed a lot of activity! The
restoration of the 5th grade wing at Navajo following the February fire is complete, and new lighting
is being installed throughout the building. Lighting is shown to have an impact on energy savings and
learning, so we are excited to upgrade the lighting throughout Navajo this year - and hope to
upgrade lighting in the other schools in the future.
We made heating and cooling upgrades in all schools this
Summer, which has been a significant project. IJHS, Navajo, and
Chippewa all had their Science/STEM rooms updated to better
meet student needs in meeting the Next Generation Science
Standards (NGSS). Students will be pleasantly surprised when
they return in August!
