o Hiking I’m an outdoors kind of girl and Alex is a little bit more of the opposite. However, we are able to compromise on hiking every now and then depending on the location. Hikes are a great way for you to bond with a friend. When I go hiking I like to play a game entitled left or right. Every time you get to a fork in the trail where you can go left or right one of you decides which way to go. As it can possibly get you lost I suggest playing in the early part of the day. Loaded up with snacks and plenty of water, a regular hike can turn into a real adventure. N6 o Going on a Road trip Road trips are basically forcing you and your friends to grow a stronger bond. You’re stuck in a car for hours listening to music, switching off on driving, and stopping at every tourist attraction. You’ll take countless pictures and sing your favorite songs on the radio with each other. Honestly nothing is better than going on a road trip with your friends. After all who doesn’t want to live young, wild, and free for at least a small part of their youth. Having a Sleepover After all the fun at the mall, head over to one of your houses for a sleepover. You are never too old to have one. Alex and I are frequent sleepover buddies. I’ve stayed at her apartment multiple times as well as her old house. There was one point that I spent so much time over there (especially in the kitchen) that her dad referred to me as the kitchen girl. Sleepovers don’t have to be at your house or theirs. Create a minigetaway, if just for a night, and rent a hotel room in your city. Set up the en-suite bathroom as a spa, stock up on snacks, and play hide-n-seek around the hotel. Whatever you decide, wherever you end up, all that matters is you’re in good company. N7 o N8 Clubbing My first time clubbing was when Alex and I went to San Francisco, and honestly I recommend that everyone do this at least once with a friend, best friend, soulmate (friend you literally couldn’t live without). We had such a blast dancing with each other, making friends with the people in the line for the bathroom and singing at the top of our lungs when a familiar song came on. The music was good and whenever we didn’t almost lose each other we had a blast. Not to mention if you’re legal drinking age clubbing can be even more fun! o N9 Go to a movie Last but not least who doesn’t love a good movie date? Everyone right! So why not go out to a movie with your best friend. I love scary movies and I think they are so much fun when seen with a friend. You guys can hide behind the popcorn together and scream insanely when the monster is revealed. If you’re not into scary movies, you can see whatever else fits your fancy. A movie date is typically reserved for your boyfriend or girlfriend, but I think it’s better when done with a friend. You can’t exactly swoon over the movie’s lead with your significant other. And, after all, aren’t we all kind of dating our best friend anyway? Just not in the exact same way we’re dating our significant other. 35 o N 10
