Voluntary Preschool

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten was established by Governor Dayton and the 2016 Minnesota Legislature for the purpose of preparing children for success as they enter kindergarten the following year. The funding allows districts with recognized early learning programs to incorporate a voluntary Pre-K program into their E-12 system by offering the preschool free of charge. District 622 applied for funding for all preschool sites, and two school sites were chosen by the Minnesota Department of Education. These classes are open to children who live or attend childcare within each school attendance area. Transportation may be available.
