That is probably why so many eye witnesses differ with other eye witnesses when describing what happened to whom. Add to that the idea that every time you remember an event you actually remember the last time you remembered it event. It is a little like the gossip game where nobody can keep a story straight. That is what happens to all of us. That is why Brian Williams and Bill O’Reilly are defending their integrity, it is a human thing.
