EDITOR’S NOTE
Team 12 of JRN 108 is pleased to
present this special edition issue of
our “magazine”, DISTORTION. This
magazine consists of various articles
about how unrealistic expectations and
stereotypes have failed the modern
woman. Although we as a group focused
mainly on magazines, video games and
movies, there are so many other forms
that we did not touch on that
contribute just as much to the issue at
hand. As team captain, I am proud to
say that we worked tirelessly and
diligently to produce this work. We
hope we were able to help our readers
understand how pertinent and real of an
issue this is and encourage both women
and men to look beyond the pictures. As
the alluring Audrey Hepburn once said,
“for beautiful eyes, look for the good
in others; for beautiful lips, speak
only words of kindness; and for poise,
walk with the knowledge that you are
never alone.” Everyone must come to the
realization that we are all beautiful
in our own ways.
