Start with a drive through town and onto the hustle and bustle of the city ’ s busiest market in full swing . Here , in the market , you will see the famous conical hat being carefully made by craftswomen who pride themselves on selling the best quality ‘ poem hats ’ in Vietnam . Next , venture on to the nearby Imperial Citadel , which was built on a similar plan to that of the Forbidden City in Beijing . After visiting the seven-tiered Thien Mu pagoda — possibly the most famous symbol in Hue — we board the ubiquitous ‘ dragon boats ’ for a leisurely cruise on the Perfume River to one of the best local restaurants in Hue for lunch . We conclude the tour with a relaxing drive through pine forests and orchards before returning to Chan May Port and rejoining the ship .
