COFFEE & CULTURE OF COSTA RICA
PUERTO CALDERA, COSTA RICA

Local dancers will greet you at the park with colorful costumes; enjoy the masquerades while you learn about Costa Rican traditions. Continue through the pastoral countryside of the province of Puntarenas to the highlands of Naranjo, a site that is world-famous for the quality of its coffee. At the Espíritu Santo Coffee Plantation, you’ ll experience first-hand the coffee roasting process and have the chance to sample the flavorful brew, followed by lunch. Later, visit the scenic town of Sarchí, home of Costa Rica’ s best wooden crafts, before stopping at the Eloy Alfaro Oxcart Factory to observe the work of skilled artisans producing handmade oxcarts, a symbol of Costa Rica and the culture during its early years.
