INTERVIEWS
A number of interviews were moved towards, including High Street Fashion companies and Ethics
and Sustainability Experts such as The Ethical Fashion Forum. Three interviews were completed,
two including a face to face element and the final interview being completed through email. An interview was first secured with Katie Bruton, Senior Sustainability Officer at WCC, this was conducted
face to face, and where a discussion was fulfilled based on the experts on recycling lifestyle choices,
her opinion on the subject and learn about the recycling schemes and programmes they put into place
within the workplace, households and the education system. The second interview was completed
with Kate Stott, Education and Communication Officer at Severn Waste in Worcestershire. This
was a face to face interview, which began with a tour around the facilities, seeing how the company
separates plastics from cardboard and other materials; also informed that clothing waste is no longer
accepted at this recycling facility, and from this emerged the necessity for more clothing banks. After
an interview was conducted asking more specific questions about the experts day to day recycling
procedures and how the plant has had a huge impact on recycling, the process of the facilities and
what happens next. The final interview was completed through email with Kate Brookes, Manager of
Worcester Resource Exchange (WRE.) The questions asked the expert about the companies impact
on recycling, the councils impact on the company and if legislation is the answer to recycling issues.
