Millennials
See appendix 2 for characteristics of millennials.
The demographic millennials are individuals born between “the early
1980’s to the mid-1990’s” (Moloney, 2017). Millennials are such an
important generation because they are the ones currently shaping the
world. With most of them just entering the work force, it will be millen-
nials ideas and plans that will shape the future.
A questionnaire was conducted for the purpose of this report. It found
that 49% of respondents believed that feminism meant “female em-
powerment and the right to define yourself”. Out of the respondents
83% were aged between 18-50. The research shows that millennials
believe that feminism has moved towards empowerment and defining
yourself for who you are. Furthermore, this is conventional for millen-
nials as they have a lot more “self- assurance” (Moloney, 2017) com-
pared to other generations. This means millennials are not afraid to
be themselves. This opinion on feminism from millennials is a typical
characteristic of the third wavers, Demonstrating togetherness. See
appendix 9 for Questionnaire results.
