VACATION AND TRAVEL
You will find that Cheyenne, Wyoming’s capital city, embodies the spirit of the Old West and is considered a bastion of rodeo, railroads, western-themed museums, and attractions. If you are wondering what to do in Cheyenne, you are in for a treat. I was here back in 2004, and this city and the surrounding area have a lot to see and do. Here is a list of the top things not to miss when visiting Cheyenne.
The first place to see is Terry Bison Ranch. The ranch consists of nearly 30,000 acres of rolling hills and lush grasslands and more than 2,300 grazing bison. A tour via train takes visitors right into the middle of the herd. Other features include the Sunday Lunch Train, horseback riding, Kid Corral, fishing, and the Trading Post gift shop. The ranch is
also home to The Senator's Restaurant and Brass Buffalo Saloon, a full-service Old West restaurant and saloon that now features slot-machine-style gaming options.
Now, you will find that every state has a city where the state capitol is located, and many of these capitals have numerous attractions, some of which are free of charge, such as the Wyoming State Capitol. As one of only 20 state capitols designated as a National Historic Landmark, and with a history dating back to 1888, the Wyoming Capitol is one of the most significant buildings in the state. The Capitol is open for self-guided tours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes extended summer hours Monday through Friday from 8:00
